Stopped at Chef Buddy's on my way back down to Miami, and what a great choice. First of all, the smell inside is intoxicating! Smelled like the best Italian kitchen I had ever smelled. I ordered the Badabing, which had pastrami, Swiss, and coleslaw. I added tomatoes and jalapeños for a little kick. The sub was perfect - so fresh, nicely toasted, and delicious. I had the pasta salad as my side, and that was okay. The dressing was good - I was just thrown off by the carrots, which I've never seen in pasta salad. Also got a chocolate chip cookie, which was phenomenal. Get them and take them home for later with milk. I would highly recommend if you live or are passing through the area. Just be mindful to check their hours.

If you are looking for food in Lake Placid that doesn't take an hour to come out and actually tastes fresh and pretty good, definitely check out Chef Buddy's. Let's put this in context: my other experience at a restaurant around here was one of the worst I've ever had and Lake Placid definitely isn't known for its food. So when you come across a place that uses fresh mozzarella, good dough imported from New Jersey, and uses fresh cut Boars head; you know that you've found a winner. I ordered the #13 - a meatball and sausage combo. It comes on ciabatta bread and with a side of pasta salad. The sandwich was very good. The homemade sausage was excellent. It wasn't too spicy but still had a great flavor. The meatballs were also very good. The bread was excellent. The pasta salad was just alright. On top of being one of the only places in the area that is good, the service was also excellent. The person who took our order was nice and helpful. I'm not going to go as far as saying it's the best sub I've ever had, but for where it is (in a town starved of good dining options), it definitely deserves 5 stars. I would definitely recommend it if you are in town and looking for a good, quick bite!

Great! The Badabing was delish the meatball hero and sauce was excellent on, I say on one of the best italian rolls ever. This place is a must! Go....eat.....

This is about as good as it gets for a casual Italian style deli. The rolls are fresh, the Boar's Head meats generously sliced and the pasta salad which accompanies each dish has a great dressing. This seems to be the local favorite here in Lake Placid. I would recommend eating here and then going to the cakes and ice cream place on Main Street for dessert. Having said that, Buddy's has fresh homemade cookies which looked great but we did not partake. Homemade sausage sub was terrific.

Food was good- however we ordered a salad with NO dressings ... Allergic .....It was served with way too much Italian dressing- when I asked them to replace it- they refused- also substituted chicken salad for sliced chicken and was charged extra and no credit given - Really?!

Clean and attentive service. Food is fresh and made to order. Salads are of course ready ahead of time. Pasta, etc. Take out dinners like lasagna and manicotti are perfect when you're trying to figure out what to cook for supper. Eat in or take out. Call ahead at lunch time if you're in a hurry.

Having spent the better part of the last 5+ decades living in NY, DC Metro, Houston and finally the West Palm area, we settled in Lake Placid. This is suicide for a former chef and lifelong foodie. My favorite dinner establishment seems to have closed, sadly enough. Lake Placid has an abundance of horrible restaurants. Smack dab in the middle of FL's agricultural heartland, you would think fresh food would be featured with flashing neon lights. Not so. You want mediocre (I'm being nice) highly processed unimaginative cuisine for dinner, come to Lake Placid. I am grateful for every little crumb I can find. With all certainty, I can say with confidence that Chef Buddy's has superb food for what it is. It's an Italian Hero joint. They make subs, salads and flatbread pizza. The ciabatta rolls are shipped in as a frozen dough product and baked fresh daily. The sub ingredients are so very fine - fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, sweet basil leaves and the Boar's Head cold cuts that are sliced to order. I usually get prosciutto and soppressata on my Ultimate Sub. My tongue does the happy dance each and every time. I can get a Espresso Coffee Soda with my sandwich or a San Pellegrino water. This is the food that makes me feel as though I'm not living in an alternate universe. If they were open for dinner, I could die here as a happy woman. We have to truck 20+ miles down the road to Sebring if we want to get a consistently good meal for dinner. There are, however, a few tiny bright spots. A local country club was recently purchased by new owners. We ate there once and the food was quite good. Stay tuned. If they survive, I'll review it. We also have a GREAT little Mexican joint.but sometimes I just want a big juicy burger and something other than redneck beer. That means a road trip.

Great local establishment! We can get real Italian subs, quality Boarshead deli items by the pound, and it is the only local place with a decent selection of olives! Get the Ultimate Italian Sub!!

An overall good experence. I eat here whenever I'm in town. When ordering pizza, the best deal is the entire pie. Highly recommended. Tell Buddy that Bill Lewis sent you.

Seriously, this is one of those places that if you're anywhere nearby, you've got to go. They bake their own ciabatta rolls with dough made from NY water. Fresh mozzarella, basil, red roasted peppers, and sun dried tomoatoes make the Chef Buddy off the charts. All meats are hand sliced - this sandwich is truly special and worth the drive! Also feature full deli service and fresh cannoli's.

Best Deli in Florida. Love this place, their sandwiches are excellent and food is great. A chef buddy sandwich is a thing of beauty and the service is good.
